The commitment to environmental objectives are firmly imbedded within the company culture and processes, and this is made visible by the group's annual environmental report. Nomenca is accredited to ISO 14001:2004 and takes a pro-active management approach to the environment as part of the role of being a good corporate citizen. The  focus of all environmental policies, visions and goals is to reduce waste, increase the re-use of materials, build smarter, utilise less non renewable resources particularly energy, and seek to add to the current environment.

The environment is centre place in our business, where we seek to divert the resources and forces of nature to the benefit of the world's population. In return we have a duty to nurture and support the environmental cycle for the benefit of future generations. As part of this the North Midland Construction Group provides both financial and pro-bono assistance to Nottingham Wildlife Guardians Natural Connections Project and Estates Work programme. To further embrace our commitment to the environment as a Group we operate our own Waste Treatment Facility from our head office at Huthwaite.

As part of our approach to Supply Chain Management (SCM), we look to work only with suppliers and subcontractors that embrace the same values as our company. Included within our selection process for product and equipment suppliers is an area on Environmental Management, which is assessed by our Integrated Management Systems Manager. As part of SCM we look to work closely with our suppliers in bringing better ways of working and lean manufacturing techniques, as well as the introduction of more environmentally friendly materials.
